Adjust camera exposure: The workflow

  1. Power the camera and connect it to the Internet.
  2. Identify the camera’s model.
  3. Place the camera at an appropriate height for capturing.
  4. After capturing, view the image’s gray scale value by Mech-Eye Viewer. An appropriate value is between 180 and 220.
  5. Check whether the 2D image is over-exposed or under-exposed.
    • If it is, adjust the exposure accordingly or use a flash image instead if necessary, and then return to Step 4.
    • If it is not, proceed to Step 6.
  6. Check whether the 3D point cloud screenshot is over-exposed based on the 2D flash image.
  7. Check whether the 3D depth map is over-exposed or under-exposed.
    • If it is, adjust the 3D exposure accordingly and then return to Step 6.
    • If it is not, proceed to Step 8.
  8. Set the 2D image’s parameters to the adjusted exposure parameters.
  9. Save the parameters.
