[Notice] Windows 11 IPC Lagging Issue – Cause Identified & Fix Available

We’ve received reports from some users experiencing system-wide lag on their IPCs (industrial PCs) after running for a period of time. We’ve identified the root cause and wanted to share the fix.

Click here to read Windows 11 IPC Lagging Issue – Cause Identified & Fix Available and learn how to resolve the issue.

Symptoms

  • System becomes noticeably sluggish after running for a while
  • CPU and memory usage appear normal; Mech-Vision / Mech-Viz software itself continues to run
  • Reproducible on both software v2.1.2 and v2.2.0 — not version-specific

Root Cause

This is caused by Windows 11’s HAGS (Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling) feature, not by Mech-Vision or Mech-Viz. We’ve confirmed through internal testing that the software has no resource leak issues. Similar lag reports under Windows 11 have also been observed with other software.

Fix

Option 1: Disable HAGS (Recommended)

  • Press Win + I to open Windows Settings
  • Go to System → Display
  • Under “Related settings”, click Graphics
  • Click Change default graphics settings
  • Toggle Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) to Off
  • Restart your IPC for the change to take effect

Option 2: Quick relief (if lag has already occurred)

Press Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the GPU driver — this provides temporary relief without a restart.
