Common issues and troubleshooting in the use of IPC

IPC Startup/Operation Issues

  1. IPC does not start up, but emitting continuous alarm sounds for a long time.

    • Confirm whether the memory module is securely connected to the motherboard.
    • Check if there is any dirt on the gold fingers of the memory module.
    • Use a rubber eraser to clean the gold fingers of the memory module and test again.
    • Replace the memory module with another one and test in a different memory slot.
    • Replace the memory module with the same specifications and test.
  2. IPC cannot start up after successful debugging.

    • Verify if the motherboard and power supply cables are securely connected.
    • Confirm that the CPU and memory are firmly connected to the motherboard.
    • Check for any physical damage to the IPC hardware components.
  3. BIOS detects CPU and memory, screen sometimes displays “Detecting IDE drives…” for an extended time (approximately 30 seconds or more—normal should be 5 seconds), then indicates no hard drive found, and IPC cannot enter the operating system

    • Check if the hard disk is nearing the end of its service life, causing instability in its operation.
    • Verify if there are bad sectors on the hard disk.
    • Test if the issue persists after replacing the hard disk with a new one.
    • If the hard disk occasionally allows normal access to the operating system, consider backing up important data, as the hard disk may be faulty.
  4. IPC reboots automatically during application execution

    • Confirm whether the application software conflicts with the operating system startup files.
    • Suggest uninstalling the application software, restarting the IPC, and then reinstalling it normally.
    • Format the system drive, reinstall the operating system, and the application software if needed.

Display Issues

  1. Blue screen on monitor

    • Back up IPC files.
    • Reinstall the operating system.
  2. No display on monitor after booting

    • Check the power and HDMI cable connections of the monitor.
      • If there is an abnormality in the power or HDMI cable connection, reconnect them.
      • If both power and HDMI cable connections are normal, please contact customer support.
  3. Intermittent black screen or screen artifacts leading to reboot

    • Ensure a secure connection between the graphics card and the motherboard.
    • Check if there is any dirt on the gold fingers of the graphics card.
    • Use an eraser to clean the gold fingers of the graphics card and test again.
    • Test with a graphics card of the same specifications.

Speed Issues

  1. Slow operation or system crash after normal startup

    • Check if the fans of the chassis, CPU, and power supply are operating normally.
    • Examine the hard disk where the application software is installed for any bad sectors.
    • Verify if there are any faults with the memory modules.
    • If all the above are normal and the system still crashes, please contact technical support.
  2. Slow boot/operation of IPC

    • Backup IPC files.
    • Reinstall the operating system.

Update Issues

  1. Unable to Update IPC System Software or Enable Windows Features
    • First, check if system updates are disabled.
    • If disabled, use the Win10 Update Blocker software to enable system updates. Enable the service and disable it after the update is complete. Otherwise, there may be an issue of IPC automatically restarting after system updates.

Other issues

  1. Unable to open software due to unexpected power failure

    • Restore from backup.
    • Update the software.
  2. Disk full

    • Clean unnecessary files, such as those on the desktop, logs, and image storage.
    • Reallocate disk space.
